Septembre 2025 : mission « formation élevage porc » en Côte d’Ivoire

A l’initiative du MIRAH, Formation technico-économique de 23 éleveurs de porc par 2 experts AVe

Cette formation était organisée, par Madame Monique Gueu, coordinatrice du programme PROPORC du Ministère de L’élevage de Côte d’Ivoire.

L’Objectif de cette formation était d’initier une vingtaine d’éleveurs aux fondamentaux de la conduite d’un élevage porcin, partie animée par Bernard, expert Ave spécialisé en porc, ainsi qu’aux bases de la gestion d’un élevage, partie animée par Denis, experts AVe spécialisé en gestion d’entreprise

Le 1^er jour du séjour en Côte d’Ivoire, les experts AVe ont échangé, durant une heure, avec le Directeur du cabinet du Ministre du MIRAH (Ministère des Ressources animales et Halieutiques). Echanges sur la situation de la filière porcine ivoirienne : ses points faibles ainsi que la situation suite à la PPA (Peste Porcine Africaine) et sur les mesures de prévention déjà prises.

Cette formation de 5 jours s’est déroulée à Agboville. Les 23 éleveurs qui y ont participé avaient tous reçu auparavant au sein de leur élevage des reproducteurs porcins de race pure ou croisée issus de l’élevage de multiplication d’Agboville (dépendant du MIRAH) peuplé en octobre 2023 par des géniteurs porcins de haute valeur génétique de la société française AXIOM.

Afin que ces éleveurs puissent mettre en œuvre chez eux les fondamentaux en matière de biosécurité, d’alimentation et de conduite d’élevage, Bernard s’est appuyé sur de nombreuses vidéos et photos prises lors de visites dans des élevages africains. Quant à Denis, il leur a enseigné la gestion économique d’un élevage : notions d’enregistrements comptables, compte de résultats ... tout cela au travers de quelques exercices pratiques à partir de projets de créations d’ateliers.

Le bilan de cette formation a été très positif pour toutes les parties prenantes : les stagiaires, les organisateurs et les formateurs

November 2024: AVe at the Abidjan Livestock Summit

Two AVe experts take part in SELAB (Abidjan Livestock Summit) from November 21 to 24, 2024 with several French livestock partners.

Responding to an invitation from the Ivory Coast's Minister of Livestock, Bernard, AVe expert in pig breeding, and Daniel, Ave expert in cattle breeding, took part in SELAB on a joint stand with several French livestock partners: IFIP (Institut Français du Porc), AXIOM, French leader in pig genetics, CFC (Celtic Freight Consulting), UNIPORC.

August 2024: AVe pork expertise mission for the Ivory Coast Ministry of Livestock

Intervention at a Ministry-dependent propagation farm

From August 1 to 7, Gilbert Perez and Bernard Bernicot had numerous contacts with various players in the Ivorian pork industry. On the other hand, farm visits were very limited in view of the African swine fever epidemic that has been present in the country since the spring, resulting in the loss of almost 100,000 pigs, according to the authorities.

The top priorities identified at the various meetings were the urgent need to set up a comprehensive training program for the various players in the industry, as well as the need for a global census of workshops, accompanied by compulsory identification of animals during commercial transactions.

April 2024 :audit of around ten farms in Ivory Coast

Audit by two AVe experts of pig farms prior to the introduction of High Genetic Value breeding stock

As part of the partnership agreement signed between Ave and French pig genetics leader Axiom Choice, B. Bernicot and G. Perez carried out week-long audits in mid-April on 8 of the 12 farms due to receive 46 breeding stock the following month.

Among the many difficulties identified in supporting this fledgling pork industry were the profile of investor breeders and the onset of an African swine fever epidemic in certain regions.

The day was also used to visit the Agboville multiplication farm, which will be populated in October 2023 by 50 Axiom breeding animals. Gilbert Perez, pig building technician, identified the priorities to be implemented on the site of the breeding farm under construction, while Bernard Bernicot, breeding management technician, diagnosed the errors to be corrected as quickly as possible in the monitoring of young breeding stock.

AVe expert Pierre spent ten days in Ivory Coast to get to know the cooperative for which he will be prospecting for partners. The mission program is presented below
